Clinique's New Even Better Dark Spot Corrector
I'm sure you've seen this product advertised. If you, like me, struggle with sun spots on your face you might be tempted to give this product a try. After running through two complete tubes I'm sorry to say that I see absolutely no difference in any of the spots on my skin. When you apply it, the product leaves your skin feeling wonderfully velvety, which is great. In fact it leaves your skin feeling exactly the way Olay Regenerist Serum does. The Clinique product cost $49 at Belk while the Olay product is about $24 at Walmart. Since it's not lightening my spots, I know which one I'll be buying next! I'm not sure there is any over-the-counter product that really helps with age spots. If you've found one, please let us know!
Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stain
At $7.69 this product was a much less costly mistake! The idea here is to use the lipstain, which is supposed to be long-lasting, to color your lips and then use the balm on the other end of the wand to soften them. I found the stain awkward to apply. Like an old marker, the color starts out strong and quickly peters out. If I start on my bottom lip, by the time I've swung around to my top lip, the color is hard to come by! I also had a problem with the balm end, which doesn't retract. The first time I used it, the balm snapped right off. I retrieved the end and was able to stick it back on but now I have to use it very gingerly. Not a great design.
CoverGirl has a similar product without the balm end, called Outlast Lipstain. The price is about the same as the Revlon product. Although it has a similar tip, I found it easier to apply the color evenly. I bought some this week and am happy with it so far. The color is pretty long-lasting, even when I apply a clear balm over the top of it. I've always got tubes of Bert's Bees lip balm laying around so I don't need the balm stuck on the end of the lipstain, breaking off at the slightest touch.
