Here are some highlights from my blog reader this week -
Over at Bargaineering, Jim reviewed "Career Comeback" by Lisa Johnson Mandrell. Ms. Mandrell gives job hunting advice tailored to older job seekers. I haven't read the book but, thanks to this review, I've put it on my list!
Gutsy Writer had a lovely post this week about how her oldest son brought her family closer together. The answers are out there if we just listen!
Are you still working on compiling your goals for 2010? MoneyNing has some tips that might help you. Check out his post on SMART Goals.
Are you familiar with Michael Ruhlman? He's a very well known food writer who has appeared numerous times as a judge on shows like Iron Chef America and Next Iron Chef. He appeared in an hysterical bit on Anthony Bourdain's show No Reservations that spoofed Hunter S. Thompson's Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. He wrote a piece on his blog called America: Too Stupid to Cook that, in spite of getting my back up with its title, was a good read. His basic point is that the makers of frozen foods are trying to convince us that we are too stupid to cook or that cooking is too hard, which will make us go out and buy their products.
Finally, here's an update from one of my nieces who's on a missionary trip in Russia. I'm very proud of her for taking on this big adventure and following her dream.
What did you read this week that particularly caught your eye?
