I'm spending Thanksgiving day with friends, as my family is all far away. I'll be taking Smoked Chile Scalloped Sweet Potatoes. Hopefully the other guests will forgive the lack of the usual marshmallow topped offering! I'm also taking some cranberry scones so my hostess will have something to feed her houseguests on Friday morning. On this Thanksgiving Day, as on all days, I'm thankful for every moment of my life!
Carnivals and other good reading -
Crab Meat Broussard appears in the 91st Make It From Scratch carnival at Feels Like Home.
Long Distance Relationships appears in the Online Dating Carnival at SuccessPart2. It’s a new carnival but check out Coffee GoZzip’s article on the “Different Meaning of Roses”.
Another Bailout? Something to Consider appears in the 40th Money Hacks Carnival at Steadfast Finances. Christian PF has some interesting suggestions in 12 Cool Christmas Gift Ideas. Some of them are pretty quirky!
Good stuff you need to read –
Fabulous Financials explains the rule of 72 in “When Will I Double My Money”. Quick and easy calculation that lets you know what you can expect out of your investments. Pretty handy!
Frugal Dad has a funny and timely post about “Eight Secret Ways To Convince Your Man To Go Shopping This Holiday Season”. Clearly every man is not the same but some of these tips should come in handy for anyone who wants their man along when they go shopping. My personal tip? Make sure the mall you choose has a sports bar!
I know I have a lot to be thankful for. How about you? I hope your day exceeds your expectations!
